Arcane abjuration

Arcane abjuration is an Abjurer arcane class feature which helps Wizards to fulfill the defender role.

Arcane Abjuration

Basics

(Level 0)

You gain training in the Insight skill.
You gain a +1 class bonus to your Will defense.
You gain a class bonus to your maximum hit points equal to your level, or twice your level if you already have a class bonus to hit points.
You may mark a target within 5 paces of you as an immediate action.
Targets marked by your Arcane Abjuration suffer a penalty to damage for all attacks equal to your magic damage bonus.
When a creature marked by your Arcane Abjuration makes an attack that does not include you as a target, you may cast a single-target attack spell on that creature as an immediate reaction.

Class Metamagic

You gain the following metamagic:

Effect:

Each enemy within 3 paces becomes marked by your arcane abjuration until the end of your next turn.

Leveling Up

At each even level, you choose a new at-will Metamagic. You may choose maneuvers from this class feature or any of your other class features.
At each odd level, you choose a new class feature. Some class features allow you to choose one or more ranked Metamagic; you may choose ranked Metamagics from this class feature or any of your other class features.

Effect:

Until this stance ends, you may shift one square or move your speed as an immediate action.

You may use this spell as a basic melee attack or basic ranged attack if you have training in your weapon's proficiency.

Target:

One creature marked by your arcane abjuration, within reach or range of your weapon (Arcana vs. Armor)

Hit:

1dW + [ magic damage bonus ] damage.

Rank 1 Metamagics

①	Strike True	(per-encounter immediate interrupt ✦ strike metamagic)

Prerequisites:

Arcane Abjuration

Trigger:

You would miss a creature marked by your arcane abjuration.

Effect:

The attack gains a +5 feat bonus to the attack roll.

①	Counterspell	(per-encounter immediate interrupt ✦ attack metamagic)

Prerequisites:

Arcane Mastery, Arcane Abjuration or Arcane Conjuring

Trigger:

A creature within 10 paces attempts to cast an at-will or ranked spell, trance or prayer of a lower rank than the per-encounter feat use expended to cast this metamagic (Arcana vs. 10 + the caster's level).

Special

If you use a daily feat to perform this metamagic, you may counter any per-encounter spell, trance or prayer, or may counter any daily spell, trance or invocation cast by a lower-level creature.

Hit:

The target expends the use of their per-encounter power, but the effect is negated.

Rank 2 Metamagics

(Level 3+)

②	Arcane Ward	(per-encounter standard action ✦ defensive stance metamagic)

Prerequisites:

Arcane Abjuration

Target:

One burst 5 area that contains you.

Effect:

Until you end this stance, the area becomes a zone that protects your allies and repels your enemies. Allies inside the zone may not be marked, and any marked allies become unmarked immediately upon entering the zone. If an enemy's attack or aura would target an ally inside the zone, that effect suffers a -1 penalty to its attack roll, and a penalty to damage equal to the higher of your Intelligence modifier or your Wisdom modifier.

When an enemy attempts to enter the zone, make an (Arcana vs. Will) attack as a free interrupt.

Hit:

The creature is pushed outside the zone, and their movement ends.

Sustain:

You may sustain this effect as a free action so long as you are inside the zone, or as a standard action if you are outside the zone.

②	Arcane Weaving	(per-encounter standard action ✦ stance metamagic)

Prerequisites:

Arcane Mastery, Arcane Abjuration or Arcane Conjuring

Effect:

As you enter this stance, choose up to three metamagic stances that you know whose total ranks are less than the per-encounter feat rank expended to perform this metamagic. Until you end this stance, you gain the benefit of each of those stances.
