The Bard focuses his cunning prowess into a charming presence, an unparalleled understanding of drama and stagecraft, and an uncanny sway over the hearts and minds of others. By keeping his enemies unsettled and his allies cheerful and encouraged, he ensures that the party lives to tell the tale of their adventures.

Bard Class Features

The Bard gains the following class features:


Weapon Proficiencies

As a rogue, the Bard is proficient with blades, bludgeons, thrown weapons, and crossbows.


Armor Proficiencies

As a rogue, the Bard is proficient in light armor.


Magic Proficiencies

Loremaster grants the ability to perform bardic magic using the Bluff skill. Your magic damage bonus is equal to your Charisma modifier.


Skill Proficiencies

As a rogue, the Bard is proficient in Bluff and Stealth.
Additionally, encouraging leader grants proficiency in Insight,
and loremaster grants proficiency in History.


Starting Feats
  • The bard gains the encouraging leader and loremaster class features, thus gaining the Rank 1 tricks words of encouragement and bardsong.
  • The bard chooses one talent, gaining that talent's skill training and Rank 1 knack
  • The bard chooses two at-will tricks that are available to her based on her class features.
  • At level 0, the bard may perform one Rank 1 trick per encounter.

  • You gain the following trick:

Words of Encouragement

(per-encounter immediate actionhealing trick)

Prerequisites:

Encouraging Leader

Target:

You and each conscious ally within 5 squares that can see or hear you, or one adjacent ally.

Effect:

Each target may spend a healing reserve, and may make a single saving throw as an automatic reaction with a stance bonus equal to your Charisma modifier.

Class Trick

  • You gain the following trick:

Bardsong

(per-encounter immediate actionbardsong stance trick)

Prerequisites:

Loremaster

Effect:

Until you end this stance, you have an aura that affects all creatures within 5 paces.
Allies within the aura that can hear you gain a class bonus to all saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier, while enemies within the aura suffer a penalty to all saving throws equal to your Intelligence modifier.


Bard Talents

Choose a Talent to specialize in as you begin play. You may choose one or both of your at-will maneuvers from that talent.

Primal Bard

Training in Nature, songs of nature.

Arcane Bard

Training in Arcana, songs of wonder.

Divine Bard

Training in Religion, songs of the gods.


Dirty Fighting

Training in Athletics or Endurance, choose a fighting style.

Poison Master

Training in Nature and Heal, built-up immunity.

Relic Hunter

Training in Religion and History, activate magic item.

Ruffian

Training in Intimidate and Streetwise, night full of knives.

Sapper

Training in Arcana and Craft, make it count.


Leveling Up

At each level, you gain new features and bonuses to increase your cunning prowess:

  • You gain a new at-will trick, and training in one proficiency of your choice.
  • You gain +1 to one ability score of your choice.

  • You gain a new at-will trick, and training in one proficiency of your choice.
  • You gain +1 to one ability score of your choice.
Level 5

  • You gain a new at-will trick, and training in one proficiency of your choice.
