Most rolls that you make are against a specific difficulty - either an attack vs. a creature’s defense, or a skill check against a specific difficulty. Sometimes, however, you need to make a roll in opposition to another roll that was made, or make a roll to end an effect. These rolls are called opposed rolls. To make a saving throw, roll your skill, proficiency or ability modifier vs. the original roll’s check result, as if it was a difficulty number.
